Our story

Chatsworth is a residential care home for twenty six people, run by Chatsworth Residential Home Ltd from a Victorian house on Dormy Avenue in Mannamead. Our Registered Manager, Sallyann Colwill, started here as a domestic more than twenty years ago, worked her way through every job in the building, and has run the home for over a decade. That matters, because it means the person in charge knows what every role here actually involves.

We keep an open house. Family and friends can come at any time, the local school and nursery visit, and we work closely with district nurses, GPs, occupational therapists, social services, mental health specialists, opticians and dentists. Chatsworth was rated Good overall and Good in all five areas at its last inspection, in a report published on 11 March 2020. The home was re registered with the Care Quality Commission in September 2025 and is waiting for its first inspection under that registration.

Why families choose Chatsworth

Twenty six residents, and staff who know every one
Small enough that every carer knows every resident by name, and knows how they like their morning to go.
A Victorian house with gardens, a patio and a conservatory
Gardens, an enclosed patio off the lounge, a conservatory at the front and a car park with level access.
No agency staff, and very low turnover
We have never used agency staff and we do not intend to. Familiar faces matter more here than anywhere.
Fresh food cooked in our own kitchen every day
Vegetables, fruit and salad delivered daily, diabetic and soft diets catered for, and something baking most days.
