Mealtimes matter here, and so does choice. We are flexible about when people eat. We encourage residents into the dining room because eating together keeps them in company, but anyone who would rather have their meal in their own room can, without any fuss about it.
The people in our kitchen
Our cooks have been feeding this home for a long time and they know what everyone likes. They bake cakes and muffins through the week, and they will happily make something different for a resident who fancies it.
We ask residents what they would like to see on the menu. It keeps the food interesting and it tells us what people are enjoying at the time. As well as breakfast, lunch and tea, there is supper every evening with a choice of sandwiches, crackers and cheese.
Breakfast when you wake
Our cooks are used to catering for different needs, including diabetic and soft diets, and the menus change with the seasons. Everything is cooked fresh on the day. Vegetables, fruit and salad are delivered to the home daily, and there is usually something baking.
