Friends and family are encouraged to visit as often as they like, throughout the day. You do not need an appointment. If you are coming for the first time, or want to speak to a senior member of staff while you are here, a quick call on 01752 846 335 means we can have someone ready for you.
Yes, and we encourage it. Every room comes with a profiling bed, a nurse call point, a television and a three piece furniture set, but residents choose their own soft furnishings and bring in photographs, ornaments and mementos. Where there is space in the room, furniture from home is welcome too. It makes a real difference to how quickly somewhere starts to feel like home.
A registered nurse is on duty 24 hours a day, every day, supported by care staff through the night. Staffing levels are set according to the assessed dependency of the residents living here at the time rather than a fixed number, so they change as needs change.
How we keep families in the picture:
Regular contact with a named member of staff, and a call whenever something changes,
A tablet in the home for video calls, so distance is not a barrier
Yes. The building is smoke free indoors, as the law requires.
Ask us. We look at pet requests individually, taking account of the animal, the resident’s ability to look after it and the other people living here. Plenty of residents also enjoy visiting pets brought in by family, which is often the easier arrangement.
Nobody is asked to leave because their money has run out. When savings approach the local authority threshold, a financial assessment is arranged with Cornwall Council to establish what funding is available. Our administrator can point you towards public and voluntary funding and will help you start that process well before it becomes urgent, which is why it is worth raising early rather than late.
Where we have a room available, yes. An assessment still has to happen first so that we know we can genuinely meet the person’s needs, but we will move quickly, and for emergency admissions we follow the same process as far as circumstances allow. Call 01752 846 335 and we will tell you straight away whether we can help.
